Jolena Bullivant-Clark

Jolena joined Hempsons as a paralegal in 2019, before commencing her training contract in September 2020. She completed 4 training seats in the healthcare litigation, corporate, commercial, employment, and healthcare advisory teams before qualifying into the healthcare advisory team in September 2022.

Jolena provides advice to and acts for NHS public bodies, in particular commissioners and healthcare providers on a wide range of legal matters.

In particular, Jolena regularly advises and represents integrated care boards and NHS trusts in Court of Protection cases, such as deprivation of liberty safeguards applications, Section 21A challenges, complex welfare cases and serious mental health and medical treatment cases.

Jolena also practices in the growing health and social care sector, providing advice and support to various social care and private health providers, including challenges and appeals to the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Jolena also acts on behalf CQC in respect of appeals and is able to apply an in depth understanding of the relevant issues from both perspectives.
