James Butcher

James joined Hempsons in November 2022 as a solicitor in the corporate and commercial team, focussing on primary healthcare, and in particular PCNs, GP partnerships and GP federations. With his experience in a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including but not limited to due diligence, sale and purchase agreements, corporate governance, banking finance and security, he is well placed to assist in practice mergers, partnership deeds and commercial contracts. He also assists our charities and social enterprise team primarily with charity registrations, CIO conversations and applications for the release of permanent endowment funds.

James studied law at Staffordshire University before completing his LPC & Master’s in law, attaining a first and commendation respectively.

He went on to gain experience as a paralegal in real estate and dispute resolution before commencing his training contract at a corporate and commercially focused law firm based in Staffordshire.  

Having moved to London in October 2021, James joined a firm as a commercial solicitor which is well-known for its work in the healthcare sector (primarily dental).

James prides himself on effectively communicating and accommodating his clients, trying wherever possible to make the whole processes as seamless as possible, and meeting their aims.
