New GP Premises Costs Directions – they are here!

NHS England have published the long-awaited refreshed Premises Costs Directions governing the NHS funding of primary care estate in England.

Of key interest to many will be the effect these will have on:

• Unlocking funding for improvements to existing and the development of new primary care facilities;
• The valuation principles on which rent reimbursement is assessed (in particular around environmental improvements);
• The process for rent reviews for both notional rent and reimbursement of lease rents;
• Lease liabilities and “last partner standing” concerns.
