Hempsons expands charities and social enterprise team with appointment of Martyn Robinson

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Martyn Robinson, who joined us on Tuesday 17 September as an associate in our charities and social enterprise team.

Since qualifying in 2013, Martyn has gained extensive experience and expertise in the charities, education, and social enterprise sectors. Over the past six years, he has worked as an associate in the charities team at Eversheds Sutherland, alongside his colleague Stephen O’Reilly. Stephen joined Hempsons in June as the new head of charities and social enterprise, succeeding Ian Hempseed, who is preparing for retirement.

Welcoming Martyn to the firm, Stephen said, “I am delighted that Martyn has joined the team here at Hempsons, his recruitment is a reflection of the strength of the practice we have here and the strong roster of clients we deliver for. I have worked with Martyn for a number of years and value his considered and thoughtful approach and the consistent excellence of the advice he provides to clients. Welcome to Hempsons, Martyn!”

Martyn added, “I am happy to have reunited with Stephen and look forward to working with the many charity and social enterprise clients at Hempsons. It is a real bonus to get to work with Ian before his retirement, and learn from his wealth of experience in this sector.”

Our team’s broad expertise in advising charities, social enterprises, staff-led mutuals, and other not-for-profit organisations (including membership bodies and trade associations) enables us to provide pragmatic and proactive advice to the sector.
