At Hempsons, our policy is to ensure continuous improvement and development of our personnel and processes which will enable us to provide superior quality legal services that meet or exceed current expectations.

We believe that client care is the foundation of a high quality service. We focus on our clients’ objectives and requirements throughout the lifetime of the client file with a structured plan in place to provide a tailored service. We are committed to maintaining and improving our quality of service. This includes safeguarding against actual or potential risks and the adoption of established and acclaimed management frameworks referred to in the following standards:

Investors in people

Hempsons is accredited with Investors In People which reflects the firm’s value to supporting the effective management and development of our high valued people. The firm operates a detailed training programme, provides development opportunities, has open communication and respects diversity. This is coupled with an ambitious business strategy which incorporates a continuous improvement programme to ensure as a firm we are market leading.

Lexcel

Lexcel is the Law Society’s practice management standard. It is a scheme for any type of practice to certify that certain standards have been met following independent assessment. This quality accreditation has been awarded to Hempsons in recognition of our highest standards of management and customer care. As a Lexcel accredited practice, we undergo rigorous independent assessment every year to ensure we meet required standards of excellence in areas such as client care, case management and risk management.

We have a designated Quality & Risk department, headed by quality experts, who implement, review and improve our systems to ensure that they are outcome focused meeting all our clients’ needs and go beyond the Lexcel Quality Assurance Standard. The Quality & Risk department’s primary function is to analyse and safeguard against any risks to the Firm and its clients.

ISO 9001 quality assurance

Hempsons is accredited with the 9001 quality standard. The standard provides a framework for taking a systematic approach to managing Hempsons’ informaton processes so we can consistently provide a quality service that exceeds our clients’ expectations. At Hempsons, we have the necessary management tools to continually improve our working practices throughout the entire firm.

ISO 27001 information security management

ISO 27001 is a specification for an information security management system (ISMS): a framework of policies and procedures that includes all legal, physical and technical controls involved in our information risk management processes.

Hempsons’ ISO 27001 system provides a model for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and improving an information security management system.”

ISO 140001 environmental management standard

The ISO14001:2015 environmental management standard sets out the requirements for an effective environmental management system which helps organisations such as ours enhance its environmental performance. Our environmental management system helps us provide value for the environment, Hempsons and its interested parties. In line with our environmental policy, the intended outcomes of an environmental management system include:

  • enhancement of environmental performance;
  • fulfilment of compliance obligations;
  • achievement of environmental objectives.

Cyber Essentials +

Cyber Essentials is a Government-backed, industry-supported scheme to help organisations protect themselves against common online threats. Hempsons’ accreditation provides a set of technical controls to enable the firm to protect itself against common online security threats.
