A training partner in each office takes responsibility, in conjunction with HR, for the planning, coordination and implementation of all training. The training partner is dedicated to ensuring legal and commercial knowledge stays optimum to ensure that the firm remains expert in our field. Regular internal NHS knowledge sessions for all staff, not just fee earners, are a key feature of our ongoing training policy and below are comments from staff who have attended these sessions:

It is recognised that successful training is a shared responsibility with the individual and staff are active participants in their own personal and career development. Supervising partners/managers work closely with their team members to ensure training needs are identified via supervision meetings and annual appraisal and where possible to align the individual with realising the firms objectives. Hempsons enables its staff to attend a wide range of internal and external training sessions, supports professional subscriptions and associated forums and meets, provides secondment opportunities and supports the pursuit of further academic qualifications.
Hempsons has an IT trainer who provides a wide range of courses on IT-related issues in all offices.
