Public procurement law post-Brexit
The Government has published the draft “Public Procurement (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019”. The draft Regulations mainly deal with housekeeping issues post-Brexit in that they either remove or replace with domestic equivalents, references to the European Union, the Commission and EU Directives in current legislation. The draft Regulations also deal with the administration of any further amendments to procurement legislation.

Simon Eastwood, who instructed Ben Collins QC, successfully represented a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in a claim for unfair dismissal and breach of contract.
Appeal court reverses defendant’s clinical negligence summary judgment
In June we reported the case of Hewes v West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust & Ors where the defendant obtained summary judgment against the claimant. That decision has now been overturned and we will report on that in more detail next week.
