Update on HSSIB/ MNSI

On 9 February 2023, it was announced that there will be a six month delay in the establishment of the Health Services Safety Investigations Body (HSSIB) and the Maternity and Newborn Safety Investigations Special Health Authority (MNSI).

The initial launch date of HSSIB and MNSI was intended to be in April 2023. However, the Board and leadership for either organisation is not yet fully in place. It is hoped that the new launch date will be in October 2023. The aim is for a smooth transition of both investigations programmes from HSIB which, in the interim, will continue to remain hosted by NHS England.
